5 Agile leadership competencies

True experts and so-called experts have written volumes about what separates the great leaders from mediocre.

It is our experience that, in cooperation with the most successful global companies, I have discovered that it really stops at agility or how can the leader balance the choices and challenges at once. Agile Flexible Leadership is the ability to keep your business running smoothly through the successful navigation of effective and reliable processes, people and innovation. Too much focus on one area can hinder performance in another. For example, obsession with efficiency can lead the company to reduce those that do not directly contribute to operations, including leadership development and R & D.

During the evaluation and development of executives who have been described in the past few years, there are five core competencies or features that each flexible, flexible leader must have in common. Here's a snapshot of each one.

Many leaders launch the year with the list of key goals – the great goals that you can manage at the same time. However, important targets can quickly be overcome by the more urgent "fires" that should be extended every day. Long-term goals need to be balanced with short-term needs and demands and never take into account what matters to be really important.

This is a competence that requires exceptional planning, time management and patience. Even the most experienced leaders are struggling to make it sometimes easier.

4th Maintaining Consciousness

While situational awareness requires leaders to understand what is happening around them, self-awareness is the ability of leaders to understand their own emotions and motives. to control their own personal prejudices and make better choices and adapt their behavior to the situation

A leader whose primary motivation is to win the love and approval of others is difficult to make difficult decisions unless he or she recognizes this trend and preserves it. Or a leader motivated primarily by money can make decisions that will lose respect or even violate ethics

. Personal Integrity

Without integrity, the leader is unlikely to keep the trust, loyalty and support of those people whose collaboration is indispensable. Integrity means someone is honest, ethical and trustworthy. Important indicators of integrity are:

– Keeping Promises and Respecting Commitments

– Behavior that is consistent with repeatedly expressed values

– Responsibility for Individual Actions and Decisions

Lack of leadership integrity eventually has negative consequences for individual leaders and the organization. According to studies at the Creative Management Center, high integrity executives had a more successful career, and lack of integrity was common among executives whose career had fled away after the fast development period
